Some dogs enjoy taking an oil tincture straight from the plastic dropper. Other puppers may prefer to have the oil drops added to their food, water, or a favorite treat. The tail-wagging, vegan bacon flavor makes both options a breeze!
Every animal is different. There is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to hemp servings. You can begin, though, by picking out the proper mg strength formulated for your dog’s weight (250mg for pets up to 20lb; 500mg for dogs 20–60lb; 1000mg for dogs 60lb+; 2000mg extra strength for large dogs 100lb+).
It’s best to start with a small amount of hemp oil, such as half a serving, and work your way up, if necessary, as you look for the serving size that works best for your pet. Our recommended serving size for a dog is a half dropper of hemp oil in the morning and a half dropper at night—so a fourth or a third of a dropper should be good for a first-time serving. If you do decide to increase the serving size (mg), be sure to wait until the following day to do so. That way, you’ll be able to accurately assess your dog’s needs, and you won’t accidentally give them too much hemp oil.
In theory, there should be no difference between a hemp oil tincture for dogs versus one for humans.
